Am I the only one that enjoyed this game?
Sadly, the Pick 6 website has a message from its administrator that reads:
Motorsport.com will no longer be running the F1 P6 competition in 2011. We have exciting developments in fantasy racing coming and we hope that you will join us when we launch them later in the year on the new Motorsport.com!
So if we want to do it again this year, we'll either have to find somewhere else, or run it ourselves. I don't think Motorsport.com's new "fantasy racing" thing will be at all the same; instead it'll be something where you have to pick two drivers and a reserve driver and effectively manage a team for the season, scoring points as your drivers do.
If we decide to run our own version, I'd be quite happy to do it.
Sounds like a good idea to run ourselves you could it on the points system perhaps per race.?

Yeah, that's a good idea. And then everyone can chip in with their ideas and end up turning it into one big argument ...

There there, Neil. It was more of a discussion than an argument!
Anyway, there definitely won't be any arguments this time because we'll just use the same rules as the now-defunct Pick 6, with no changes unless necessary. The scoring uses the formula one 25-18-12 etc model, as Andi suggested.
I've knocked up a Google Documents form to make it easy to take part. You can see it
here. The "keyword" is something that each member will choose, tell me, and then keep secret - to prevent people entering as someone else. I didn't want to call it "password" in case someone thought they should put in their forum password.' You can submit an entry on the form now if you really want to, but when the competition officially starts I'll delete it.
Anyway, if there are no objections, I'll make a new thread in the quizzes and games section with the rules.

Have you become the official spreadsheet person for forum quizzes?

Sure

I could even email you, if you wanted me to.
I'm glad you're on board, Matt, as you were the one to introduce it to this forum. Now I'll go ahead and make a new thread for it.

It's been a while since this topic was posted in, but I'm resurrecting it to show you this rather strange FIA press release of today:
http://www.fia.com/formula-one-regulation-changes
Now, permanent car numbers I don't have a problem with. And the five-second penalty thing appears to be a move towards consistent penalties.
But double points for the last race?! Whatever next? Points for fastest lap, pole position and best helmet design?

Bernie Ecclestone is just copying ideas from the R15 championship
I think it would work better as a joker system, where each driver can choose in advance which race they want to count double.

No, that Sky article flashed up in my Twitter feed about 10 mins before BBC (and I checked to see if it was on the BBC website after I read the Sky article, and it wasn't).
