The question is worth repeating.michael_churchill wrote:Question: Do we / the UK / the BBC have an obligation to enter the Eurovision Song Contest every year? If not, why do we bother?
If we vote for Brexit next month, can we stop???

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2016
Being a member of the EU has nothing to do with being a member of the EBU. So we will continue to be in Eurovision, and will come even nearer the bottom now, as Europe will shun us for leaving.

Belarus (12th in SF2)
Bosnia & Herzegovina (11th in SF1)
Georgia (20th)
Iceland (14th in SF1)
Israel (14th)
(FYR) Macedonia (11th in SF2)

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2016
Ah, right. So we'll just keep being given no points because we bombed all those countries. Cool.

And also, none of those countries have EVER been in the EU, so they can't piss everyone off by leaving as we've done.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2016
It will be much better when the UK breaks up, we can form our own little voting block with England, Scotland and Wales all giving each other big points.
Having said that I forgot that the Scots and Welsh hate the English, so maybe not..!
