Can you identify a station from just a paving slab? Sadly, some people can

Tube Geek 380
GuyBarry 322
A Challenge 10
jamesthegill -70

Well done to A Challenge for finally getting into positive points! Despite my sneaky overnight 100-pointer I still haven't managed to retake the lead yet, so there's all to play for...

Oh I didn't stay up, I just happened to wake up in the middle of the night and thought I'd seize the opportunity :)

I'm actually a bit bothered about that particular aspect of the game, as it gives an unfair advantage to people who go to bed late. In one of the earlier versions of the game I imposed a period of "downtime" so that players weren't allowed to make claims between midnight and 6am. It's too late to change the rules for this one but do you think it would be a good idea for the next game?

That rule would be a good idea, but people would just post 100 points at 23:59. I suppose we could also say you can't post if there's less than that amount if time left until 'Downtime'

Yes, that's exactly the rule I wanted to introduce. So at 23:45 you'd be allowed to claim up to 15 points, but not 16 points or more. At 23:59 the only valid claim would be 1 point.

I think that if you post 100 points at 23:20, then it should not be validated until 07:00. Posts should be allowed in the time, but should start from 06:00, and only the first one, while the rest are invalid up to 06:00.

At least, this is my view, and I hope it makes sense!

That's an alternative way of doing it, and it's actually the way I did it before - you treat the period from midnight to 6am as though it doesn't exist, so the game clock ticks over from 23:59 to 06:00 in one minute. I don't mind either way to be honest - does Tube Geek have a preference?

Making a post of more time than up to downtime is risky as anytime in 6 hours someone else could come in and post, and the first minute after their post would then be 06:01!

But the point of downtime is that you can't post during it

Yes that's right - all claims during downtime are simply ignored and have no bearing on the game. The clock simply stops.

I'll go with that idea then - the period of time from 23:50 to 06:10 is deemed to be 20 minutes, for example. I won't change the rules for the current game but I won't make any further overnight posts.

I claimed 1 Point at 10:15, meaning it was valid at 10:16, 2 minutes before the scores. The scores are wrong, my score was 21 Points at 10:18.
