Rare Entries XIII - another assortment

Post by The Orange One »

The last two quizzes have been mostly about the tube, so something different. There are a few railway questions in here though!

Clarifications:
- Currently or current means "as of 07/05/2014". Today means "07/05/2014".
- When I refer to London Overground Station, I mean a station with a regular London Overground service. Similarly for LU, NR, DLR and Croydon Tramlink

If you want a question clarified, please ask below. Answers by PM before 18:00 on the 16th May 2014.

1) Name a station with both a London Underground and National Rail service where no line marked on the Oyster Rail Services map in green or orange calls.
2) Name a country whose current national flag (the state flag) contains 5 or more colours.
3) Name a forum member who has written all the questions for more than one "Rare Entries Quiz" thread on this forum, started before today.
4) Name a Mersenne Prime whose primality was discovered without the use of a computer.
5) Name a football stadium within Greater London with nearest LU, LO, DLR or NR station, as the crow flies, in Zones 1 or 2.
6) Name a Friday 13th that will occur within two years of today.
7) Name a country that has won the Eurovision Song Contest over 3 times.
8 ) Name a station served by Eurostar for over 320 days of 2013.
9) Name one of the Royal Parks of London.
10) Name a current planet of the Solar System.
11) Name a NR TOC or London Underground Line that currently serves King's Cross St. Pancras, King's Cross or St. Pancras International.
12) Name a currently open London Overground Station.
13) Name a currently open Docklands Light Railway Station.
14) Name a currently open Croydon Tramlink Station.
15) Name a currently open station with regular, direct trains to London Fenchurch Street.
16) Name a UK University.
17) Name a country in Asia.
18) Name an exoplanet.
19) Name a US President.
20) Name a chemical element.

NOTE: This quiz is longer than normal. Please answer every question, even though some of them have what you might perceive as too many options. If you do not answer a question, it will be treated as incorrect.

What do you mean by "regular" trains? After all, one train a week is a "regular" service, so long as it runs every week.

Also, are individual university colleges allowed, or only the name of the overall university?

Agreed. To me, a train service is "regular" if it runs as scheduled (accounting for delays!), in regular intervals (e.g. 10tph, 1tpd, 1tpw, summer Saturdays etc.), most (and for the pedants, that's 90%) of the time.

Results!! A four-way tie, as well. Jamesthegill, you were in first place, but tubeguru's late entry bumped you down there. The latter parts of this quiz were written just to see how people cope with easy questions.
