Re: Rare Entries Quiz VIII: London
What I don't understand about the scoring system is this. I was penalized for a wrong answer on question 6 (I don't believe it's wrong, but that's a separate issue). So my score ended up being multiplied by 10, because five people had chosen "Moscow" on that round. The fact that there was a five-way clash had absolutely nothing to do with my choice of answer. Wouldn't it be better to have a fixed multiplier for wrong answers?

It does 2x the most popular answer for that Question. You were just unlucky that so many picked Moscow.
At the end of the day it's a bit of fun and a lot of luck.

Yay, I win! But I would like to argue my case for choice of bridge...
Listed as a bridge here...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridges_ov ... _Cricklade
go to the railway's article which reveals the whole thing was opened by 1891. Which surely must have included the bridge.

Not that it really matters, but I don't like getting questions wrong.

I'd argue that not really a name though it's more a description of a bridge.tractakid wrote:Yay, I win! But I would like to argue my case for choice of bridge

Names often are descriptive. How did most surnames come about? Hi, I'm Mick. I lived at the point where I needed one of these new fangled things called a 'surname'. I make bread and related stuff. Therefore my surname will be Baker. The Raven wrote:I'd argue that not really a name though it's more a description of a bridge.tractakid wrote:Yay, I win!
