Re: Rare Entries Quiz IV - Rock and Prog Rock
OK getting there on this one, takes up more time than I realised
Just a quick update, 8 entries received and for TWO of the questions I had 8 different answers
Some of you also appear to have found a couple of "loop holes" probably my fault for not wording the questions a bit more carefully....
Should hopefully have the scores worked out (so you can all argue the toss ) in a couple of days...

I did wonder if Kevin would accept "Powell" as an answer to that question?

I checked and they were apparently never designated ELP only ELP2 so decided to avoid it.greatkingrat wrote:I did wonder if Kevin would accept "Powell" as an answer to that question?
Still think my original answers should have been accepted but decided not to kick up a fuss as it was Kev. Can we have a new rule that once entries have come in you cannot reword the questions?

Re: Rare Entries Quiz IV - Rock and Prog Rock
Yes I must admit that I didn't have Powell in mind as indeed they were really known as ELP2....
To think that two of the greatest drummers of all time played with Emerson and Lake
With regard to question 1) apparently there is an album called Dark Side of The Moon by another band (sorry forgot who they were now) and Steve had given me a track from that and said that the Floyd album was entitled The Dark Side of The Moon....
Anyway he still found a sneaky way around it with his Hungarian version for a unique answer....
Oh and by asking for an artist at Woodstock in my mind that included bands, hence the slight re-wording on those couple of questions...
Actually really enjoyed this and wouldn't mind another bash at a quiz some time in the future

Medicine Head (1972). Come on, everyone knows THAT!Going Underground wrote:With regard to question 1) apparently there is an album called Dark Side of The Moon by another band (sorry forgot who they were now)
Floyd discovered the MH album before release, and started thinking of other names, including the working title "Eclipse: A Piece For Assorted Lunatics", which then became "DSOTM: A Piece ..."
Finally, they dropped the subtitle, and released the album under the title DSOTM after the Medicine Head album flopped.
One thing only do I know, and that is that I know nothing - Socrates.
