Well this is going to be an interesting one....

Starting at Epping at 0617 we will need luck and keep a decent pace up all day to complete all 270 (T4 could be tricky again) with a T5 finish and having to go up to Amersham/Chesham and back....

Again this is something different a new start and some old "Brown/Starkey" bits thrown back into the mix...

Left the guys abour an hour ago at Pic Circus and they were slightly up and going well.

GU sends apologies to HT but he forgot to text you - if it's not too late they were just heading up to Amersham on national rail and will presumably come back via your area :)

If anyone has me on Facebook then there's a time lapse video. They were on schedule when I left Kev, about to do Preston Park. I'm not sure whether Andi got held up at Upminster when he told me he was going to be there, when it broke!

Glen - Kev says you texted him at 1731 saying that you were at Hounslow West. He apologises and didn't receive it until we left Watford at 1845!

Perfect weather for our Epping  T5 route and we really wanted a completion so pushed this as if it was a serious GWR attempt....

As above posts we were on schedule had managed to get a bonus of taking out West Harrow by means of a double back having ran West Rusilip  Ickenham train to train 6 1/2 mins a definite PB, thus avoiding a nasty run in the evening. But a slightly late train ex Richmond also then held outside Turnham Green for and Ealing Broadway to pass meant that we would have only had 4 1/2 mins to run West Ken  Ken Oly which even Andi may struggle to do :?: So we had to leave that out on a limb and run from Barons Court making the train with just under 1 minute to spare....

West Ken wouldn't have been a major issue and would have put us down 10 mins, but the intruders on the line at Whitechapel screwed us as we got to Edgware Road for a Hammersmith train there were people on the platform and we waited 17mins for the train to arrive which had a police accompaniment as well... As we stopped at Paddington we heard the announcement of 30 mins for the next Eastbound service  Then arriving at Hammersmith there were no trains in nothing had passed us and this was going to be the returning Eastbound train.... Where all the stock were at this time I have no idea....

Anyway we just missed an Eastbound district by 5 seconds, and by the time we got to Hatton X we still could have the got the last T4 which was 6 mins behind us but would have meant getting stranded at T5 as we would have missed the last Eastbound back to Hatton X where the car was parked... Although Dr Who said we could probably have got a bus which we didn't think of at the time...
So 269 in 17hrs 44mins 08secs....

Many thanks to Iain for the late morning/early afternoon support, Rhys for keeping our spirits up in the late afternoon and after they aborted to Andi & Richie and also Glen for the evening support and much needed McD's :)

We hit The Loop, MHE, Amersham and Ken Oly perfectly and a route that could well have come out around 17hrs 20mins (Nozza has the exact time) with a jaunt up to Amersham and back means that it can't be all bad so we are probably going to have a look and see if we can put something together on paper inside GWR..

All in all a great day and around £500.00 raised for CiN so far :D

As Kev mentioned the weather was perfect for running around the network. We had a route the was 17h 18min on paper so we managed to keep to it right up until 22.30 and as Kev said it all went tits up at Edgware road. what should have been a 3-4 min wait was 17 mins. then we wasted another 15mins waiting for delayed District line trains. after 17h 44mins didn't think about a bus from T5 so it was only 269 stations. :x

Several good points came out of the route a few we won't be mentioning here as we are starting to look at a GWR route. But an Excellent day overall and lots of money raised for a good cause.

Bad luck - it must be gutting for things to fall over in the way they did so close to the end.
