Chesham station closed

Post by mullardo »

Chesham station was closed for a few hours today due to lack of staff. Does anyone know if this was a lack of Met line drivers or lack of station staff

It would probably have been station staff. They would have been more able to draft in another driver to go to Chalfont to run the shuttle.

Surely wouldn't need station staff, just open the barriers and done and dusted!

I don't know the reason, so what follows is pure speculation. Because of engineering work further down the line, my understanding was that, for today and tomorrow, the Chesham 4-car shuttle using the bay platform at Chalfont & Latimer was running again for the first time since through services were fully introduced last December. So if there were any problems with opening up again this platform or the relevant points, it may have resulted in suspension of Chesham services.
