Parking at/near Wembley Stadium

Post by Garion »

Hi all, I'm off to Wembley for the Championship playoff final but my girlfriend finishes work in Milton Keynes at half 1 so I'm wondering if anyone here knows of any places around Wembley stadium that I can park my car for a few hours? Or anywhere that is like one or two stops away on the tube? Any help would be appreciated :)

I often use Ickenham. Quickly accessible by road from the M40/A40, and it has a station car park which costs just £1 on weekends. Then obviously it's a just a 20 minute journey in to Wembley Park. Of course if the timetable works out for you, you could also use West Ruislip down the road for the Chiltern service that stops at Wembley Stadium station, located much closer to the stadium.

Is there still a Car Park at Rayners Lane? I parked there for the West Ham vs. Fulham final in 1975 :D

Always a good time to remind others of one of the most useful web pages on TfL's site: Tube station car parks

The only problem is everyone else may have the same idea and I imagine these car parks may well be full up when there is a match on at Wembley.

True, well this was if my girlfriend was going to the convention in MK on the Monday, she isnt now. So now I'm using the classic method of Purple Parking at Heathrow and going in by Tube. But thank you everyone for your tips :D Now to learn some anti-Swansea chants... ;)

How about asking Soup Dragon if you can park at his workplace near Hatton X

Could well be the case but, unless anyone knows different (if so, I don't expect them to share) I doubt there's any better combination of cost and convenice for parking in London. My cursory detective work has shown that parking on-street (for free) is generally hopeless less than 5 minutes from even the outermost stations.

On the contrary, very few people really think of anything but the most obvious options. Most people going to events at Wembley Stadium are travelling into London and have little knowledge of the suburbs. I've found Ickenham nothing but half-empty when travelling there on event days where Wembley is packed out with 85,000. The real advantage comes when you get back to Wembley Park after the game, and you're going in the opposite direction to everyone else who is travelling into Central London.

You can also use the local streets around the stations in the north-west corner of the map. Free!
