So hang on, are you saying that if Hakan breaks your record on Monday the 28th of September, you are planning to get it back the following day?

I'm not quite sure what to make of that!

That would knock the 8 days I held the GWR once, right out of the park.

Hmm, that's a bit of a crazy timetable.

This is one fought-over record if ever there was one!

I've just thought of an interesting point. If we assume that I held the record from the 5th of May 2004 to the date that it was broken by five seconds (could soeone supply that date please?) then my question is this:

Did Geoff and I hold the record for a total longer period of time than anyone who has broken it since?

So from that list the TOTAL time (in order) the record has been held by the people listed is:

Me: 755 days
Geoff: 755 days
Andi: 443 days
Karahan: 435 days
Hakan: 302 days
Lars: 302 days
Sam Cawley: 119 days
Steve Wilson: 119 days
Antony: 81 days
Kevin: 81 days
Philip: 81 days
Ryan: 81 days
Jamie: 81 days
Rachel Brabbins: 81 days
John Stark: 81 days
Martin Hazel: 16 days
Sara Wearn: 16 days

So, Andi is still 312 days off me. So if he does get me in August next year then I will have the longest time held for five years and three months, which isn't bad is it? Does that make sense?

But of course all of the above ignores what happened before Geoff and I took the record.

Well he did so many attempts that haven't been recorded that we'll never be sure. But suffice it to say that he beats all of us on that list.

Are we now going to pride ourselves on having the record for holding the record the longest?
Holder of the slowest recorded 274 attempt: 4 months, 1 day, 9 hours, 17 minutes, 32 seconds.

Yes, because it's the only record I have left!

According to the site the longest reign was that of bob robinson from july 1986-1994 october
in these days i think any reign over 6 months is considered good.
