- Grab this map.
Open it up in your favourite graphics editing program. Even MS Paint will do the job, although you will probably find it a lot easier with something like Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, or The Gimp, which is free to download. - Make any changes to the tube that you want. You can add or remove lines, stations or track, you can split or merge existing lines, you can re-route lines, you can change the zoning system, you can change the colours or the general look of the map - you can basically do whatever you want with it. The basic aim is to improve the network in a hypothetical situation: TfL have unlimited time and resources to do whatever you tell them to. You can either be realistic about it, or you can go crazy and make a non-stopping line from Upminster to Chesham. Don't worry about making it look nice - if you can, great, but if you can't, don't worry about it.
- Save your final work in a web-friendly image format like PNG, GIF or JPG.
- Upload it to the internet (you'll need your own webspace for this - if this is a problem, you can email me your image).
- Make a post in this thread with a link to the image and a brief description of the changes you have made and why you have made them. Try and talk about why your changes would be good for the network, for its users, and for London itself. If anything needs further explanation, like changes to the service frequencies that would need to be made to accommodate your changes, mention those as well.
Come on, it'll be fun.
