PROBLEMS LOGGING IN?

Post by tubeguru »

Is anyone having trouble logging in?

As in you enter username and password and it refuses to allow you in and asks you for the details again.

I've been encountering this on two different computers several miles apart today and I was wondering if anyone else is getting it too.

Yeah - it's not an ISP problem is it??

I'm on Tiscali if it helps!

I'm just finding that my session seems to time out very very quickly - either within a couple of minutes or when I click back to the forum from a thread.

Yes, that's more or less what I can determine.

I have no idea how to fix it at the moment but hopefully it will clear up of its own accord.

I find that the only way I can log in is to check the box about keeping me logged, otherwise its keeps me out.

Check your dates and times on both the computer that you're logging in from, and in Neil's case, the server - sounds like the cookie is expiring prematurely.

However I don't seem to be having any problems.

It's an interesting thing - it's still doing it on both computers. One uses BT Business Broadband and the other is Virgin Media (as they now are).

I'll do some fiddling.

Not having the logging in problem (as I remain logged in indefinitely), but I do have the problem that Jonny mentioned whereby the newest unread messages are not highlighted anymore.

I'm on AOL by the way (for my sins).

Sam is having the same problems on Tiscali too.

Same as above, which is annoying.

Leaves on the line to blame?

I've had problems on three different computers, including my home pc which is hooked up via Tiscali. This has only been in the last couple of days though.
One day I shall return!

Yeah - I have no idea why and I'm waiting for Chris (moley) to be around to see if he knows anything at his end (he hosts the SQL databases remember).

Well since so many people are having this problem it points to a forum-based problem and not an internet one.

Maybe.

I don't know. It's an interesting one.
