We know there will be a list of Z1+2 stations, including the start station Oxford Circus, that must be visited in the shortest possible time... At a given signal we open our envelopes - revealing the list of stations to visit (with "normal" Guinness rules):
Oxford Circus
Angel
Barbican
Belsize Park
Camden Town
Cannon Street
Finchley Road
Highbury & Islington
Hyde Park Corner
Parsons Green
Shepherd´s Bush (H&C Line)
St. Paul´s
Stockwell
Turnham Green
Warren Street
Waterloo
The question is: What order is the best?
I've had a go at this as practice for my route planning skills. Here goes:
From
Oxford Circus, take the Central east to
St. Paul's, have a nice jog along the A1(!) to
Barbican and take the Circle to Embankment via
Cannon Street. Take the Northern south via
Waterloo to
Stockwell, go on the Victoria to Green Park, go one stop southwest to
Hyde Park Corner and catch the 10/73 bus to Oxford Circus via
Warren Street to
Highbury and Islington. Go back to King's Cross, go back to
Angel, and go up via
Camden Town to
Belsize Park. Continue to Hampstead and get a bus to Swiss Cottage, then head up to
Finchley Road and continue to West Hampstead. Go on the LO to Gunnersbury, get the District via
Turnham Green to Hammersmith and go up to
Shepherd's Bush Market. Run to Shepherd's Bush and get a LO to West Brompton, where you get on a District south for a
Parson's Green finish.
