Hi everyone.
Many of you know that I've changed job recently; I've finished at church and am now working as an intern for an MP in Westminster, which is very exciting, but if I thought the pay was bad at church.....!
I've been staying with friends, mostly from church for the last month or so, however the person I'm staying with this week and next can't put me up this weekend. So I was wondering if any tube challenger might have a sofa or a bit of floor space just for this Friday and Saturday nights? Londonish would be good as I'm working at a constituency surgery until at least 8 on Friday evening, and need to be in Balham for much of the day on Saturday.
I have sleeping bag+all bedding, am fully house-trained, and have even just had my annual bath. Only kidding - more than happy to clean/cook as required over the weekend.
If you might be able to help, I'd be very grateful, please PM or email tpfkar at bigfoot dot com.
Thanks,
Ric

I had a great run thanks...which was pretty surprising given that I injured my leg charging round Zone 1 on the friday night before! But although it was painful to walk on, it was OK to run on. I was hoping for 1:50 if everything went well, but I just found I had a lot in the tank, and was able to give it some over the last mile, to come home in a brilliant 1:43:25.
Very very pleased. And beating my friends was just a bonus on the side
As I crossed the line I was thinking 'never again' 20 minutes later, I was wondering if I might have a go at a full marathon some day!

Damn you.... my best ever was around 1hr45, so little chance of me beating that now! Oh well, well done anyway.

Yeah, once you start doing half-marathons, it's hard to get away from them. I got about the same time as you (but this was the Bath one back in March). Fancy joining me in the next Bath one?
Nevertheless, even a small-ish challenge like the Zone 1 thing is more tiring than a half-marathon, due to sudden bursts of speed, excitement, disappointment and enduring the Earls Court McDonald's grub.
