McWhirter Centenary

Today, 12th August 2025 is the centenary of the births of Ross and Norris McWhirter, founders of the Guinness Book of Records.

Whilst as Challengers we may have had our differences and frustrations with GWR in recent years, I would like to think that those frustrations would not be there were the founders still in charge. Certainly, I think the Book has brought Challenging to a wider audience, and Norris's regular "On The Spot" spot on "Record Breakers" played a part in my interest in challenges.
