Correct.
"Stayin' Alive" by the Bee Gees was followed by "(Love Is) Thicker Than Water" by Andy Gibb, "Night Fever" by the Bee Gees and "If I Can't Have You" by Yvonne Elliman. "(Love Is) Thicker Than Water" was written with Andy, the other three with the other Bee Gees, Robin and Maurice.
Additionally, from December 1977 to September 1978, for 27 weeks out of 37, the US number one was written by Barry Gibb - before the four above was "How Deep Is Your Love" by the Bee Gees and later came "Shadow Dancing" by Andy Gibb and "Grease" by Frankie Valli.

What's the connection between the BBC's general election coverage and an ice show?

All right, I'll tell you. It's "Arthur", the opening track from his 1975 album "The Myths And Legends Of King Arthur And The Knights Of The Round Table", which was used as the theme music for the BBC's election coverage from 1979-1997 and in 2005, 2019 and 2024 (in various arrangements):

It became a stage show at Wembley Arena the same year, but because the venue had already been booked by the Ice Follies (who were due to perform afterwards), the stage had already been turned into an ice rink and so they had to perform the whole thing on ice!

michael_churchill wrote: 02 Oct 2017, 14:23 I know it's resurrecting a long dead thread, but I have to pass on this fact I recently discovered... in the form of a question.

Name the two people in history who have won a Nobel Prize and had a songwriting credit on a record that has reached number one in the British chart.
Bob Dylan is the obvious one, no idea who the other is.
Bob Dylan is correct, well done! I wouldn't expect anyone to know the other...

Charles Dawes was an American politician who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1925 for the Dawes plan which involved German reparations after World War I. He was Vice President to Calvin Coolidge from 1925-1929, then became US ambassador to the UK for 2 1/2 years. In 1912 he wrote a piece of music to which lyrics were added in the 1950s. In 1958, "It's All In The Game" by Tommy Edwards was a number one.

This also makes him one of two US congressmen with a number one songwriting credit - the other being Sonny Bono from Sonny and Cher.
Confirmed on this week's QI!

Congratulations, you are the first person to admit that they've seen the dire "Superman IV: The Quest For Peace" where Jon Cryer plays Lenny Luthor who helps Gene Hackman's Lex escape from prison. Jon Cryer also plays Lex in the TV "Arrowverse" appearing in shows like "Supergirl" and "The Flash".
