So by my reckoning, for James to win the championship, he needs to win the next round and Tangy finish no higher than 5th.

James isn't competing next round, sadly.

I believe Tangy has all but won this year. I could tie him on points, if I win, and he comes 6th or below, I believe. But he will have won more rounds than me, and therefore would win the tiebreak.

James, you'd need to cancel your holiday for Tangy to be denied.

Sorry, but spending a week in deepest Lincolnshire, ringing bells and drinking beer, is too much to resist.

Have you considered asking the Olympic committee if they can change the dates of their thing in Paris?

You would tie if he came 6th, or win if he came 7th or below.

What's the logic behind this? I am on 39 points. My worst score so far is 0. I can only equal Tangy's current score of 51, surely? I which case, he would win on the 'most rounds won' tiebreak.

You're right, I was thinking if Tangy came 7th or lower he would score one point less, but I'd forgotten that the 6th place he got in the most recent round was his lowest score of the season so a 7th place in the next round would not affect his score.

I'm not completely thrilled that I'm right though
