That should take about 15 minutes off the time for an FNC then!

Edit: Another thought I just had was that when we are allowed to do FNC's again, would the record be reset as there would only be 269 stations and the Northern Line extension probably won't be open?

Not sure as there was a situation way back when, when a station was closed for like two years and Guinness still insisted it needed to be visited for some reason

Of course if you aren't going for a GWR you can call 269 a FNC

More importantly, it'll make the marathon a lot easier for the Tube Olympics ... fingers crossed they go ahead in 2021.

I'm not sure about "a lot easier" - since most FNCs begin or end at Heathrow, leaving T4 out isn't going to make a lot of difference - for a challenge starting at Heathrow, it will take about 10 minutes off the watch - for one ending at Heathrow, maybe 20 minutes. Now if it was Olympia that was shut....

ah, it makes it easier for my FNC route - me, me, me ... starting at Heathrow but then tight connections for one of the morning trains from Olympia. That 10 minutes would make all the difference.

Though I had planned on staying at the Yotel in T4 the night before, so will have to rethink that

It'll also help to take off a lot of the time pressure, as now there shall not be a mad dash towards the end of the day around 11pm to make sure you can catch the last train to t4

Pure and simple you won't have to visit this station in any official GWR attempt as it is closed and replacement buses are not scheduled

Wouldn't they just say you can't complete a World Record until after T4 has reopened?

who would want to do an FNC in the next few months anyways. if youre that depserate i should think some smaller challenges are more likely to take place than an FNC

I don't think articles like this are very meaningful because no-one has any idea what's going to happen in the next few months. If passenger numbers suddenly increased again because of, for example, a bigger-than-expected success story with giving everyone the vaccine, Terminal 4 might open earlier than expected.

tier 1000 people cant leave their bed heathrow t4 pasenger nubmbers dramatically drop and t4 gets permanantly closed. FNC becomes easier. twist. people dont listen to idiotic government. passenger numbers dont drop .t4 doest close. shame FNC doesnt become easier.twist. actually it does close becuase million of people flee out of tier 1000 and london has a population of 0 people.

I'm not sure if this has been reported here before, but in late February the company that runs Heathrow said they intend to reopen T4 by July.

"Passenger numbers currently 23% behind forecast, but a strong summer for outbound tourism predicted – Despite lower than expected passenger numbers in January and February, we are expecting a surge of Brits heading for summer sun and are working with our airline partners to ramp up operations to ensure they have a great experience at Heathrow, including reopening Terminal 4 by July. We expect to meet our 2022 target of 45.5m passengers."

So that gives approximately 2 months between the Northern Line reopening and T4 reopening to work out a route...
