in regards to the 2 extra stations im not telling you my methodology of how im doing it. But to say the current record was done over 8 attempts of painstaking actual research off 2hours for each bit testing in real life how it went improvements ideas strategies etc.

Bus stops traffic times if i pelted off down the street where i would i run out of gas etc. all my door positions were done the old fashioned way standing on the platform of each one and actually waiting for the train to stop didnt have some tubechallenger selling a app that gives it away!.

And im of the more helpful ones i have some time free on weekends if you want to explore some possibilities but as they say the best way is toactually get out there and do it!

Going Underground wrote: 09 Mar 2021, 12:07 Did my first ever challenge at Z1 in 2006 - loved it and was hooked...
Team Brown / Starkey then spent the next 6 months planning a FNC route, researching stations and going out checking buses, distances, timing ourselves over the whole network... Crunching timetables etc... Albeit we all live relatively close to London (furthest away being Worthing) but not once did we ask anyone for help, advice, tips etc...
A hugely satisfying part on the FNC is working things out and researching yourselves...
Have to agree with Steeevooo with regard to that....
I remember the days of wasting many hours going over routes, then realising you've made a vital error somewhre along the line and having to start all over again. I have no intention of doing another FNC, but couldn't agree more with what's being said. It's extrememly rewarding to come up with a solution to an issue yourself rather than being told the answer.

I don't know why but for some reason, I found going through the forum and trying to see what I could find in terms of ideas mentioned in the past quite interesting! Then again, I might be doing something similar as part of the basis of my masters final project which may or may not be related to Formula 1. I don't think that will be a surprise to anyone though

I did also make use of a day when I was filming a project on the least used stations per tube line (apart from W&C!) to try and get a couple more timings from platform to platform, back in the days when I still lived on the outskirts of the London commuter belt and not in North Somerset!

What's the point of having a forum to discuss the Challenge if we're not supposed to discuss the Challenge?

Should I just call it a day after 16 years, and delete the whole thing?

We are on the second page of this thread so I think there has been a reasonable amount of discussion.

I'm having enough trouble working out how to incorporate them into my Zone 1 route, let alone for an FNC :D

I have a lovely route for the current zone 1 - hopefully I'll have chance to test it out before the new stations open. Nothing to do with Covid restrictions - got a stress fracture in my foot that's going to take a few months to get sorted.
Not a plus one

I very much doubt it will go anywhere - I'm kind of stuck with it after all this time. Plus, I'm the only one available to manage the place at the moment.

I have no idea. To my knowledge, no admins of this site are currently dead.
