I'm sure that Borough thing has been thought of previously, but I may be getting mixed up with a Diamond Geezer post!

The sporting list would surely need Queens Park in there too? :-)
Held some Alternative Challenge records for a long time.

I think the borough challenge has been thought of before. As it started an argument about which borough certain stations are in! Like Old Street being right on the border of Hackney and Islington etc!

The record is 6h29m, although that is for all boroughs, using any of Tube / NR / DLR / Trams as desired.

I seem to recall Calling All Stations doing this before Christmas one year and I think the fastest time from KXSP was 3 hours 18, would be interesting to try and beat that though!!

I would exclude the dangle due not covered on normal travelcard cost - otherwise interesting - so one visit needed on each line yeah?

I myself have had basically the same idea. A simple idea but lots of pottential for different routes and solitions to tricky bits. If fact, I think I even came up with a route, although no idea how feasible it it.

Would be up for a crack at this!

Based on the IKEA challenge, how about something similar using the London airports:
Heathrow
Gatwick
Luton
Stansted
Southend
City

Plus bonus points for additional challenges.

michael_churchill wrote: 06 May 2020, 10:38 An idea I had, which I don't think I've ever mentioned on the forum, is "Tube challenge by borough".
Visit at least one tube station in all 26 of the 32 London boroughs that have them, plus the City of London.
Some stations are close to the boundary between boroughs and I believe some have entrances in more than one borough - For instance, Chancery Lane in the City and in Camden. To allocate one borough to each station, I eventually found a TfL source, https://tfl.gov.uk/cdn/static/cms/docum ... gures.xlsx

The six boroughs without tube stations are Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Kingston, Lewisham and Sutton. Bromley, Croydon and Lewisham are served by Overground and/or DLR, so they could also be included on a wider "Tube Map" challenge, if it's not hard enough! They all have NR stations.
Two boroughs each only have one tube station, so they must be visited. At the other extreme, Westminster has 32 so there are plenty of route planning options.
Come to think of it, just visiting all 32 stations in Westminster could be a good challenge.

For a trivia question, after Westminster's 32, which borough has the next most? The answer may surprise you!
It did surprise me! I'll keep quiet about it so other people can have fun with it
Full Network: Three completions, Best time: 17:18:18 - thanks Glen, Andrew and Rhys!

All lines: 46:11 (6th equal)
Zone One 2:52:51 (thanks Glen)
