Where can you hear excerpts of a radio performance of Shakespeare's King Lear, broadcast at 7:30pm on Friday 29 September 1967 on the BBC's Network Three?

The Globe? The RST (S-o-A)?
First to 100000 in the 2015+ Tumbleweed contest. Winner of a few rounds of a diverse range of quizzes/games. Some decent times in alternative challenges as a fiftysomething who merely walks briskly. Briefly led All The Actons.

I don't know the answer, but I note that it was the last major programme on the network before it was replaced by Radio 3 the following day. Is this relevant?

Not relevant, and probably coincidental.

A further clue: Excerpts from Act IV, Scene 6 were incorporated into another work of art - it's that work of art I'm looking for.

That'd be I Am The Walrus by little known indie band The Beatles, correct?

What's so odd about Bangor City and Juventus male football teams this season?

Correct. There is a small excerpt in the middle of the song and a longer one during the fadeout. "Sit you down father, rest you".
The Beatles recorded what happened to be on the radio at that time when they were in the studio.
I recently read that the original stereo version goes from true stereo to "fake" stereo about two minutes in, just before the first excerpt comes in, because it was recorded directly on top of the mono mix. Apparently for recent remixes like the Cirque du Soleil "Love" album, they obtained a recording of the play from the BBC so that it could still be included.

Bit of a guess: there are more Italian players in the Bangor City squad than in the Juventus squad?
