Comic Relief 2018

Post by tangy »

Are any challengers doing anything for Comic Relief this year, which is on the 23rd March.

I am only really asking as ideally I would like to schedule round 5 of the Random 15 for April (to even out the spacing of the remaining events) rather than tacking it on the Saturday after Comic Relief, which would then leave a large gap until Random 15 round 6 on 2nd June- after Zone 1 Challenge Cup.

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!

I don't see why you don't do that already even with fnc coming up change the r15 to a differant sat perhaps after tramlink day it doesn't have to be closing ceremony? Fnc is tiring and to do another challenge next day is exhausting plus for those outside london logistical nightmare. Hence why both Tuesday i can't attend as no forward notice well not enough! It was only fortunate I haven't been working Fridays.

We usually do a FNC for Red Nose Day on alternate years, this year it's the Sport Relief year so usually an off year for us?

I am considering doing a SLAM that day if anyone would be interested - Friday 23rd March. PM me if anyone is interested. Warning - will be an early start...

Yes that's true we have never done full network for sports relief and it many years since we visited all the London Football Grounds.. So apart from David's "SLAM" there is never much going on...

After Tangy mentioned last week that the next R15 was likely to be in April, I briefly entertained the idea of doing a FNC on Sports Relief precisely because there wasn't going to be an R15 the next day! However on reflection:

a) I'm still not fit enough
b) I need to do some more work on a route
c) I now have a work meeting that day

So I won't be doing one either!

I'm not going to do an FNC but I am going to go to London that day for a general recce. I'm going to do some buses and runs (walks, probably :) ) that I've not done before. (Overland route from Amersham to Chesham... I'm looking at you!)

I'll make a donation to Sport Relief based on total stations visited and new routes and runs done.
