Tube Olympics 2018: Schedule of events

Post by tangy »

Time to put my TOSA hat on. As 2018 is fast approaching, it is time to think about launching the 2018 Winter Tube Olympics.

The TOC (Tube Olympics Committee) has concluded that London (UK) will be the host city for the 2018 event.

The 2018 Winter Olympics will have the same events included as per the previous games in 2014, these are Biathlon, Mouse, Tramlink, Nordic Combined, Random 15 and Full Network. All events marked as "evening" will commence between 18:00 and 18:30 local time.

The schedule will be as follows:

Event 1: Biathlon: Saturday 10th February DAYTIME EVENT

Event 2: Mouse: Tuesday 13th February EVENING EVENT

Event 3: Tramlink: Friday 16th February EVENING EVENT

Event 4: Nordic Combined: Tuesday 20th February EVENING EVENT

Event 5: Full Network: Friday 23rd February WHOLE DAY EVENT

Event 6: Random 15: Saturday 24th February (followed by closing ceremony) DAYTIME EVENT

Please note, event 6, the Random 15 will also double up as round 4 of the current 2017/18 Random 15 season. So as well as medals for the Olympic aspect, normal Random 15 Challenge scoring will also be applied and will count for the Random 15 league table.

Full details of each event will be posted individually nearer the time.

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!

I love the diversity of cities we have for this. I wonder where it will be held next year ...

Unfortunately, rather as I feared, Winter TO straddles my annual Model Railway Exhibition on 17th Feb. Thus it immediately rules out 10th Feb (the day I go round the shops putting the posters up) and 16th (preparation day and very early start the following day). 20th is also unlikely as my parents (who do the catering for the exhibition) may still be over visiting, though I do like the sound of NC and have a route worked out, conveniently starting at Paddington.

Hopefully though I should be able to make the Mouse and the R15.

Should this not be Round 3, or have I missed something here?

Your "meeting point" will be either the staring station (Mouse) or your choice if this is not fixed (Nordic Combined + Tramlink) Can't really see any need for a central meet up?
