Re: Triple Crown Day - 12th August
The trains to/from Poplar arrive upstairs, next to the Central line. The trains to/from Canning Town and Stratford International run downstairs, next to the Jubilee line.

Be at the front of the DLR as it arrives at StratfordGoing Underground wrote: ↑07 Aug 2017, 12:42So aren't they on the same platform at Stratford then?? I will be arriving Stratford to depart to International.. I though I just got off and waited at same platform.....
Get off and go straight ahead (it's the only way you can go)
Bear to the left
First set of stairs to your right and go down
Turn left and walk straight ahead to catch DLR to Stratford International
I made a mental note of where to go on my recce run!

Re: Triple Crown Day - 12th August
I was watching (OK, looking at @diamond_tittle Twitter updates!) by Michael today as he did his #TripleCrown challenge.
It made being on a very tedious T-con much more enjoyable as I saw his tram updates pop up!

Re: Triple Crown Day - 12th August
I've just realised that my Bottle time is only the fifth under two hours! I have to say that everything did go well. I managed to run onto a couple of trains just about to leave, and even the lifts seemed to be waiting for me.michael_churchill wrote: ↑08 Aug 2017, 11:51 Here are my results from yesterday

Thanks for the replies on this much appreciated
I have done DLR twice and vaguely recall this now....
Sounds like that was a pretty decent combo of times there Michael...
If my maths are correct it took 6h 26m 5s completion time meaning 47mins and 34seconds to link the systems?

Re: Triple Crown Day - 12th August
Sounds about right. Around 1/4 hour between ending the DLR and starting the Bottle at Aldgate and 1/2 hour between ending the Bottle at Charing Cross and starting the trams at WimbledonGoing Underground wrote: ↑08 Aug 2017, 12:22 Thanks for the replies on this much appreciated

Re: Triple Crown Day - 12th August
Not really looking forward to the 5am BST start tomorrow to get to London but should at least be a bit cooler than here in Malta temperature wise. Got a couple of routes planned and they both come in under 7 hours, albeit with some fairly conservative estimates for interchanges. One of them does require doing King George V to Gallions Reach in 11 minutes or less from platform to platform. Is that even possible? Also would a normal Zone 1-6 travelcard ticket cover the NR services in those zones and team services as well?

If you're really fit then KGV to Galleons Reach in 11 minutes might be possible, for me it''s the 474 bus!
And yes, a 1-6 railcard will be fine for the challenge, such as Beckenham Junction-Lewisham / Waterloo-Wimbledon etc.

Re: Triple Crown Day - 12th August
During last year's Tube Olympics DLR Challenge, one competitor tried to run from KGV to Gallions only to discover the bridge was shut, forcing him to go the long way round the dock!
He dropped out of the event shortly afterwards, thinking he would have come last anyway, and not realising everybody else had been scuppered by Woolwich Arsenal NR station catching fire!

Re: Triple Crown Day - 12th August
I'll be taking photos during the day and (when above ground) tweeting them and my progress on my account @dcracy3, using the same hash tag as Michael did, #TripleCrown
I'm still concerned about time though; I have to be back at Euston for 20.30. It's gonna be tight! Kev & Rich have sent me their numbers so I'll text them my times as well as tweeting them.

Re: Triple Crown Day - 12th August
Does anyone have a definitive "Bottle" map please? I'm pretty sure I've got it right, but I want to be sure before I try to enact a fatally flawed plan!

Re: Triple Crown Day - 12th August
Cheers for the information on the tickets. I'm not entirely sure what kind of fitness level I am at although I might map out a route when I get back to find out. I might also be tweeting when I can on my account @roblo97 although this may depend on signal, battery and whether or not I have a run of some kind to do.
