Re: John O Groats to Lands End cycle ride
Why have you changed it back to this way around
Chances are it will be much tougher as you will be mostly into the wind.......

Re: John O Groats to Lands End cycle ride
We actually have 21 days to do this so technically we only have to average around 45 miles per day some days we might do more some less depending on certain weather conditions and we have damo,s boozer to look forward to at end.Which should keep me the impetus to keep going

***UPDATE 12:50 - DAY 1***
Andi & Sara just called, they've stopped for a bit of lunch. So far they have travelled through Wick and now at Dunbeath. They just had a nice hill climb before lunch. 27 miles left to do today and the first overnight stop is at Brora but Andi said they have a comfortable 8 hours in which to do this sector.

Re: John O Groats to Lands End cycle ride
When you next speak give them my best and tell them I will be thinking of them every day during my 14 mile round cycle trip to work and back.....
Should be a piece of cake to finish the last 27 miles today even if some of it is uphill....

***UPDATE 17:30 - DAY ONE***
Andi & Sara have sucessfully completed the first leg of 62 miles and arrived in Brora.
They are both a little saddle sore and looking forward to a hot shower before bedding down for the night in their tent. Andi said that they had to walk up a few hills, but the cycling down the other side was good fun. The weather has been overcast but dry, very good conditions for cycling. Tomorrow they are aiming for Inverness, more updates to follow.

***UPDATE 17:15 - DAY TWO***
Andi & Sara are still on schedule, today they have covered around 60 miles, they are just crossing the river to the south of Inverness. It's been a tougher day today, cycling into the wind and rain, but they still sound in good spirits.

At least they don't have to deal with "customer incidents". There's noone else within one hundred miles of them at the moment.

Re: John O Groats to Lands End cycle ride
It's a shame that they decided to do this John O Groats Lands End, I know we are several hundred miles away from them but the wind has been really tough the last couple of days heading South West in the evening.Soup Dragon wrote:***UPDATE 17:15 - DAY TWO***

Re: John O Groats to Lands End cycle ride
***UPDATE 17:15 - DAY THREE***
It's been a day of sunshine and showers as Andi & Sara have been cycling along the banks of Loch Ness. Apparently the only monster anywhere to be found was in Andi's pants! There have been a couple of rainbows on view but so far no pot of gold. At the time of calling there was about another 5 miles to go before arrival at Fort William. Today they have covered around 65-70 miles.
