Outward - Caley Sleeper Euston - Fort William, then onward to Mallaig on the Jacobite, ferry to Armadale, bus across Skye and onto the mainland, train to Inverness then Highland Chieftain back to London.standclearofthedoors wrote:But what about the way back?
Could be done in about 3 days and you get to go on 3 of the most scenic lines in Britain.

i would go for the cross country voyager if i had to choose one first class journey, only because standard class on those trains is beyond masochistic. i doubt that's what steven has in mind though
i think these guys are to be congratulated especially for taking such a mad idea forward to duncan bannatyne, i'll never look at that man the same again, i refuse to believe he's never travelled standard class, seeing as he used to be an ice-cream van driver before he got rich.

I think it is far too much to give 2 16-year-olds over £4k to go bashing for 2 weeks! Far better to give that to some of the Tube Challengers after a mental All Stations Challenge! Of which I still want to do in the spring...
Unofficial Z1 challenge, 15th September 2006, 1400 start - Result? 3h29m34s. Disgusting! I want a re-run!
