Particularly on the southern section going north, I've often had that thought as well... but it's not too nice when you're standing - or facing backwards. If it was a rollercoaster, it would undoubtedly be Vekoma!

And not convinced that Jubilee is the worst smelling... maybe in rush hour, but that's just commuter armpits, and the noises and 'Stanmore' type announcements make up for it :D
I think the closest feeling to being on a roller coaster is between Hounslow West & Hatton Cross, the train seems to travel so fast and be out of control that sometimes you feel like it will jump the track or shoot through Hatton Cross.

And on the subject of station announcements why can't they say Borough correctly? It sounds like "This train is for Bruuugh"

In defence of the Central, she has never let me down on a Z1 the longest wait being no more than 2 mins :D

Two things need to be addressed here.

1. The lines AREN'T REAL PEOPLE (Sorry Garion)
2. For Will, the answer to the question in his signature is Brixton Academy.

Yes, point one is confusing me.

Can someone explain to me the logic in getting upset when someone says your local tube line is rubbish? People need to stop defending inanimate objects they don't own ... tube lines, football teams, home towns etc.

It's not necessarily a fact - it's an opinion, so calm yourselves :)

I'm alright with defending lines, it was the word friend that freaked me out.
And it's hardly his local line when he lives in Cardiff. It would be the Met surely?

i think i am probably the odd one out here, i always seem to hate my local train/tube line. when i lived in crystal palace i spent my life bad-mouthing southern and now i'm in boston manor, you can see i voted "piccadilly" on this poll...

hometowns are a slightly different matter, because you CAN get attached to a place where you live or are brought up. also, usually when people mouth places off, they haven't even been there, they're seldom saying it based on their own experiences there, but on one story they saw in the daily mail or some bullshit about someone getting shot. for instance, the thom ap rhys price incident made kensal green seem dangerous. at least that's my experience.

We do - it's just a more subtle flavour ...

I was, in fact, just being teasing and using a less subtle humour. One could declare war on my local station and I would care very little except it might involve my house [which sits over one of the lines] getting blown up. A little forum banter hurts no one :D
