nail on head Michael....
The reason it's become a talking point in the right-wing media especially is because they see it as another UK versus Europe war. The Sun, the Mail, and the Express will use anything to stoke up anti-EU/Europe sentiment among its readers.

And it works. I looked through some of the comments on articles on the Mail website about Eurovision. You'd think we were at full-scale war with every country in Europe, the things people were saying. It's literally a song contest. The best/most popular song wins.

Also, the UK has an absolutely terrible superiority complex. We always like to see ourselves as the best, and in charge. As soon as we don't win, we take our ball and cry all the way home to mummy. It's pathetic.
So, I don't understand it because I'm not the sort of person who would read those papers. Fair enough! I'm glad about that.

The comments of our spokesperson, Amanda Holden, don't help, saying she didn't know what language she was speaking. She might as well have just tried shouting loud enough that Johnny Foreigner could understand.

Unless we totally screw up the staging I think top 10 could finally be on the cards this year, I'm actually excited about a UK entry for the first time in 11 years.
One day I shall return!

Here we go again!

I haven't listened to any of the songs from this year yet. I'm waiting for the last two countries (Armenia and Azerbaijan) to announce their songs, and then I will sit down and listen to them all, and see who I think is sounding good for this year.

Norway's song title ("Give That Wolf a Banana") has be intrigued ...
