;) I thought it was a very interesting feature in the tilework. I think I only noticed it when examining my photographs from my full challenge attempt.

Edit - where's the "Tube Guru Knows" avatar, TG?

Talking of Avatar it took me about 2 hours and twenty attempts and the best I could come up was old Thomas here :?
You may or may not know the feature is the old BOAC symbol used on the aircraft tail...This was abolished when they merged with BEA to form British Airways....

Er, the Speedbird logo predates BOAC, who inherited it from Imperial Airways. Designed by Theyre Lee-Elliot, its first appearance (I think) was in 1932. It's BA's equivalent of Tfl's Roundel.

Wonder if BA's solicitors are as vigilant (or as stupid!)

And of course, all BA call signs heard on air traffic control begin with "Speedbird" instead of "BA" or "British Airways". So even though your flight number is BA056, the air traffic controllers will say "Speedbird 056".

Out of interest, the old Concorde route from London to New York was Speedbird 1, and the return journey was Speedbird 2. Both flight numbers have since been retired.

Every picture or link I try says the size is too big (or some other technical jargon that I am too old (or stupid) to understand... :?

It has to be no larger than 80 pixels by 80 pixels, under 10kb in size and of a recognised file type, I assume that includes JPG, GIF and PNG.

If you need any help, send me the image you want to use and I'll make it work :).

I am possibly one of the more obsessed fans of the band in question.

As well as all of their albums, I also have over 100Gb of bootleg recordings of said band from 1969 to 2005 (that's about 110 shows) and still going :-)

I will be going to see all four of the one-time members of this band live later this year (two next Tuesday and two at the end of July), and I had the good fortune to meet one of the men I'll be seeing next Tuesday at an awards ceremony last November.

Pictures of that occasion can be found here:

I've also seen a tribute band of this group 15 times in the last two years, lots of pictures of which can also be seen on my Flickr account.

Sounds obsessive to me!

I just happen to like a lot of their music. More of a Beatles fan, me...
