So, I'd gone to Taunton by train for the day, and come back to the station after a nice lunch in Pizza Express and an ice cream later on, only to find the train we were expecting to get to Nailsea & Backwell didn't exist, so we got a CrossCountry to Temple Meads, where we had a 10 minute wait fir a train back out. And what do we see? An old Orient Express train sat in a platform, with people on it! A nice ending for an annoying day!

It was sat next to me at Plymouth later on, and I drove past it again at Truro, with the carriages in the yard.

I believe this was it - http://www.luxury-trains.co.uk/british_ ... htm#Stives

What times were your trains? As I thought I heard your voice on the one of the trains I was on (can't remember which!). And yes, it was that.

I travelled on the 15.57 Plymouth to Par, and I drove the 19.16 Penzance to Plymouth.

Oh, I only went as for as Taunton. There must have been a driver who sounds just like you then! Also, did you go all the way to Par? It is my favourite beach in Britain!

I don't do announcements. No drivers do - the guards do it.

And how do you know what I sound like?

I've heard you on Geoff's video when you and him did the Zone 1 Challenge in 2008

Surely you don't sound that different though :)

Anyway, back to the OE

It's not the Orient Express, by the way. It's the British sister train, the Belmond British Pullman.

All of the carriages have names, yes.

It came sneaking past my office window in Reading earlier in the week.
