Garion gets a new job!

Post by Garion »

Over the past three months, I've been going through the various stages of applying for a new job. My initial application was made in March and a few days ago I had an email off First Buses and offered a position of a trainee Bus Driver starting at the end of March.

Wooo!

Excellent! I used to work for First Bus, though not as a driver. Nevertheless they gave me a driver's uniform and let me keep it when I left the job. I still wear it from time to time. Bet there aren't many people who can dress up as a bus driver whenever they feel like it :)

Welcome to the bus industry, Garion! I think you'll enjoy it. Which depot are you at, somewhere near Bridgend?

Thanks everyone. I got lots of my current uniform for work which I'll keep one shirt xD. I'm going to be based at Bridgend.

I'm due to report for training in Swansea on March 31st which is also my brother's Birthday. Looks like my family will be celebrating two things on that day!

I'm nervous but looking forward to it. I've just bought a copy of the DSA guide for bus drivers which I'll read before I start.

Following a phone call where I requested a change to my start date due to being near to the end of my university course, I earlier accepted a revised offer informing me to start my training on April 22nd. I've just had delivered the DSA Guide to Driving Buses & Coaches so will read that over the Easter break.

Bit of a bump. I was due to start Monday on the buses..

However, I just had a phone call and accepted a position with First Great Western based in Bristol. I will be working in the ticket office there starting June 23 :)

Now lets find the most EVL split ticket combination I can think of....

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!

Or Lawrence Hill, Stapleton Road, Filton Abbey Wood, Patchway, Bedminster, Parson Street ... :)

OK, so none of those stations are staffed, but don't let that ruin it.
