I met up with Das and Andi at East Grinstead for a really twisty but fun course. Andi was tail walking with someone who eventually came in around 85 minutes. I was mainly walking but managed around half that even though I was only a few places ahead. Definitely recommemded!

When I started didn’t even have a parkrun in Cornwall. Nearest was Plymouth 90+ miles away.

Yep it's a global monster now and I only made my first visit to another venue (Osterley) when Bedfont was closed for a week...
Even when Lanhydrock became the first parkrun in Cornwall I only visited to get a run in that Saturday as I was on holiday, I didn't class is as "touring"

Quick trip up the Thameslink today to Luton, Wardown. A three and a half lapper and a lake with a fountain (as has Raphael fountain fans). Plus a bloke with a massive speaker in a baby buggy, playing a mix of tracks including what to my untrained ear was gangsta rap and Hotel California. Great fun!

Teignmouth promenade is a good course if slightly narrow when u get to the back markers you got to pick ur spot to not catch them up. The turning point is brutal u lose all momentum and that costs u seconds note to self buy yourself a f*****g watch.

A relative lie in for me this morning before a trip to Bethlem. I hadn't realised the name was the origin of the name Bedlam, and how long the hospital had existed (albeit at previous locations). It's believed to be the first parkrun on NHS property, and we were warned to be careful we didn't include patients (sorry, service users) in any pictures.

Google maps advised the 194 bus from Croydon, but this takes a rather torturous route near the run site, and the 119 back was way quicker. The run is a fair way from the main road, so allow lots of time. It's a hidden gem though - essentially a figure of eight done twice around a couple of fields, but with lovely scenery and what looked like a great cafe. There are some very minor slopes but it's not far off flat.

Apparently Geoff was also at "Bedlam" amazed that neither of us spotted him
Anyway 119 from East Croydon looks the best option and was a really lovely parkrun - albeit a summer course as would be very messy in bad weather

A dozen of us out running this week. I took to Kingdom in order to gain a K and a 5 for my Wilson Index.

Kingdom is a verk challenging three lap run with each lap starting downhill, but finishing uphill. My Strava showed this as 79m total ascent.
A pretty course with nice views and what is claimed to be the largest living tree in the UK (The Seven Sisters Chestnut)

This weeks Highlights
Rhys1995 gets a PB 12th place and a CB of 22:42 at Brandon Country Park
Geofftech sets the benchmark at Bethlem Royal Hospital in 27:07
Tractakid lowers the benchmark at Millennium Country in 24:44
Das is our first runner at Hereford in a time of 33:59
Soup Dragon is the first to tun Kingdom in 21:30

Medals Update:
With three runners medals are awarded at the Inaugural Bethlem Royal Hospital run.
Geofftech (GOLD), Going Underground (SILVER), Iain (BRONZE)
