When did you apply?
Five years ago, so that would've been (if I can count right, which isn't a given) 2007. The closing date for applicants though was 30 March - I know that much given that it was my 21st birthday!
Attempts: 2 (17h38m, 238 stations) (unknown, 200 stations); Completions: 0; GWR: 0; PBs: 0.

Yeah, that was around the time I applied. How strange.

Thanks a lot to all of you who have commented. I've taken all of it on board (no pun intended), currently looking at unis at the moment but I will make my ultimate decision in January/February when the applications for the TfL apprenticeship begins. Judging by the way I am looking at it at the moment I may just take the opportunity to work at TfL, but we'll see.

Bear in mind, that if you become a tube driver, you'll eventually end up "driving" automatic trains, in boring tunnels.

Just saying ...

If you drove the Victoria or Waterloo & City line you'd end up driving in tunnels constantly. If I had a choice (you probably don't get one) I'd drive on the Met.

Waterloo & City drivers must swap the the central line occulally otherwise they'd go psychotic!

There is a common pool of Central/W&C drivers, although I believe there are some drivers who will always choose to do the W&C if possible for some reason!
