I have just received some A level and AS level results...

A2: RE C, music D
AS: psychology B, health and social care C.

I'm disappointed with music, although it wasn't a complete surprise (it's really really hard) and I am pleased with the other 3. So, a mixed bag.

A2? AS?

Back in my day it was O-levels and A-levels. GCSEs were just starting when I left school. Eeee, by gum!

A2 is a complete A level, AS is the first half of an A level.

Can't you do an A-level all in one go these days?

You still can.

The AS level was invented so that if you wished to change course after one year, you still got a qualification out of it. Obviously you can't take the A2 year without the AS year. For example my A-Levels:

First Year at College:
Biology - AS
Chemistry - AS
Mathematics - AS
English Literature - AS

Second Year at College:
Biology - A2
Chemistry - A2
Mathematics - A2
Film Studies - AS

Dear lord, that was 8 years ago! Now I feel old!

I got a D in GCSE Music...

and got the highest grade in the group.

Shows just how good our music teacher at school was... we all did really well in the practical stuff, it was the theory that we all fell down on :)

Incidentally, even though I've known it for a while, might as well threadjack and reveal my 65% (2:1) for the first year of university. Whoop whoop.
Attempts: 2 (17h38m, 238 stations) (unknown, 200 stations); Completions: 0; GWR: 0; PBs: 0.

Well done! But don't forget the 2nd year at Uni is the "evil" year

I often hear of university first years not counting towards the final grade, does this apply to you at all Richie? or is this your second year, or what?

That was the case for me. My degree mark weighting was roughly:
0% First Year
20% Second Year
30% Third Year
50% Forth Year

Hence why you spend your first year getting drunk and entertaining ladies. :D

Then you have to put the work in, during the 2nd year, something that I didn't do very well hence sulked away with no degree after 2 years! ha
