Steam train driving at my local garden centre

Post by Rhys1995 »

It's taken me 11 months to realise that anyone above the age of 16 can apply I believe (when part of the garden centre's heritage steam train group) to drive the various mini steam trains on site for the kiddies. I might be applying very soon to drive some on the Saturdays and will keep you all updated :)

One of the Paddington drivers drives the trains at the Ruislip Lido - he's been doing it for years.

Not bad at all! Seems like a nice little thing to do, I mean the 5 year olds very much love it (if they don't have an iPod, iPad etc.) It's quite cute to see their faces light up. Might try and get a couple of films in when I can when I get the chance operating the trains :)

I 'borrowed' a friend's four-year-old so I had an excuse to go on the Bath & West Railway at it's namesake showground last summer while doing some RSL work there...

(Just to clear it up - I went to my friend and said 'shall I take Millie off your hands for an hour or so, so you can get on with that editing?', so nothing untoward there :) )
