Talking of TGSs, why are guards so reluctant to let cyclists who have loaded their bike onto the train through their little office? It would save the train time, because then they cyclists wouldn't have to walk back along the platform to board coach A.

Well that and it'd be useless in tunnels.tubeguru wrote:You'd think we'd have GPS in our trains, but we don't.. And in answer to your inevitable response to that - it will involve too much money, too many consultations, too much work and too much hassle, as do most things on the railway.

Re: Train Meets Tree
Because the TM leaves his ticket machine and bag in there, and someone could nick them. Someone would then have to make sure that the door between the office and the seating area was closed. Plus, if the passengers want to access the coach from the bike area, they're going to want to go the other way too, which is impossible without the correct key. So you'd have to have someone open the door at every stop.Starkey7 wrote:Talking of TGSs, why are guards so reluctant to let cyclists who have loaded their bike onto the train through their little office?
