Regular TCDL Darts Sessions - Starting 23rd March

Post by Soup Dragon »

Dear fellow Tube Challengers and Dart Players, the TCDL is proud to announce the launch of regular dart sessions to take place on Tuesday evenings. The inaugural event will take place on 23rd March and thereafter we will plan to have an event every 4 weeks or so. If anyone wishes to do a small challenge before each session (All lines, Bottle, Mouse, etc...) that is entirely optional. The darts will be scheduled to start at approx 1900, however, if enough players are available play could commence earlier. The initial schedule for these sessions is as follows:
23MAR - The March Open - Winner Kevin Brown
06APR - The April Invitational - Winner Steve Wilson
04MAY - The May Masters
01JUN - The Tubefest Open

Each session will have an individual champion, being the player who scores the most points on that evening. All points will count to the overall TCDL standings. The venue for each tournament will be announced in advance. I've attached a poll to give some idea of how popular each date selected will be, you have upto four votes (re-voting allowed). Good luck and happy darting :)

As I discussed with you privately, I think that Kevin should have a handicap on him so us mere mortals stand half a chance ;)

e.g Kevin has to start at 501 whilst we start at 301 :P

Kevin is not invincible, there have been at least two sessions that he has not top scored. Most recently after the R15 Ryan was top scorer that evening, and when we had the darts saturday it was "yours truely" (aka myself) that top scored.

Not so, you have a 14.81% win ratio against Kevin

I would be well up for this, need to improve my currently poor ranking! The more games the better, can only get better (says he who can't hit double 1 if it were a large as a bus)!

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!

I think the only problem with this is its all right for ur Londoners and ur rack up a considerable amount of points that us non londoners wont be able to attend if there is enough people whom have racked up points throughout the year perhaps they could be a 2nd plate final 17-24th place.?

Isnt the pdc boss going buy the bdo or have i read that wrong i just thought if u have enough players on the final day because all top 8 positions will probably be held by London people it be nice to have a 2nd plate final for those who cant attend so many challenges as u lot.

It's a fair point. The format for the 2010 finals has not been decided as yet. We will discuss this at the next TCDLC meeting to try and establish a fair system for the finals and plate.

I think perhaps the fairest way to do this, with regards to the fact that otherwise it will be enormously biased towards London/Central London based people who can definitely commit to a Tuesday evening is to perhaps have two league tables running concurrently - one being the "overall" league table, and one being the table solely for darts events arranged as post-challenge, ie. the ones which are likely to have non-London based people attending.
