Called Pete? Know someone who is?

Post by TheFatBuoy »

Just found this on another forum - http://www.thepetecollective.co.uk.

Very Dave Gorman/Danny Wallace-esque, but should be great all the same - a bloke called Pete is aiming to get 2000 Petes together in the same place at the same time to beat the world record, set by 1500 blokes called Mohammed in Dubai.

Petes of the world unite!

i know two people called pete, and have sent an email out to both of them :D would be great introducing them all to each other.

"hey pete, nice to meet you i'm pete, this is my brother pete, and this is my friend pete, oh and have you met pete yet?"

1,500 people called Mohammed in Dubai?

What are the chances?

Do you I want to be in a room with 200 other "Peters".....

Hmm, I need to think very carefully about this one - will I need to take my passport to prove it????

More like a public park or similar, and with 2000 Peters.

I'm currently on the forums there trying to rustle up enough members to form bands called The Peteles in various different countries.

There's me and one other Pete (in Wales) that have officially shown interest so far, so I don't know how successful it'll be, but the total Pete count when I looked last night was past the 560 mark, which is quite impressive.

Even so, there's a world of difference between getting 2000 Petes to sign up to a website, and getting 2000 Petes to come to London to all meet up.

I'm quietly optimistic though.

And re: taking a passport as proof - not sure, but there is mention of the website of the possibility of the non-Pete fraternity to change their name by deed poll, so as to be included!

I'd love to be the official Guiness World Records person there that day, checking that everyone was a bona fide Pete......
