No way I enjoyed that Parkrun a really nice interesting run unfortunately another case of too many people for a not wide start perhaps the finish funnel could be adapted to this it was an idea I thought of give a wider start to get rid of the numbers and less bunching perhaps. Regardless we walked with Iain for 3.5 mins then I paced until I left xcooler123 behind and finished ebcouraging a kid along.

Weekly Update 20/07/19

Sorry, I thought this was already posted... so I'm a week late!
I will do this weeks update in a couple of days time.

12 Runners this week
2 New Course, Bedgebury Pinetum and Cyclopark

Jamesthegill set a new PB of 26:40 at Lancing Beach Green, taking 1 second off the PB he set last week! 28th Place was also a position PB.
scrxisi ran a SB at Southwark, finishing in 28:46 in his 199th parkrun.
geofftech ran a CB at Finsbury Park in 28:33.

Medals update
At Lancing Beach Green, jamesthegill's PB of 26:40 earns him (BRONZE), pushing DrainBrain out of the medals.
At Tonbridge, Andi claims (GOLD), so geofftech drops to (SILVER), xcooler123 earns (BRONZE), meaning scrxisi and tractakid drop out of the medals.

The full details are here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

******* hell I get gold yet walked the first 400m with Iain result I gave noticed my times have gone up recently I'm not stressing my injuries. I prefer to run healthy now less speed and better memories although I will say my time at rogiet would have been a lot better if it hadn't of been for some slow coaches at start line crowding me out why why why not go to back if ur slow.

Sorry why should slower runners have to run further than 5k and have their time penalised even more? That makes you quicker runners times look even better in comparison than our slower ones taking into account the extra metres that need to be done to even get to the start line :x

I can see both sides of this discussion. A couple of weeks ago at Cranleigh there were two kids at the start, I thought that they could be quick so didn't try and push in front, but they were really slow and made the first 200m quite tricky as the pack tried to get round them on a narrow path at the start of the run. However, for slower runners, who are looking to set a PB, I agree that you should be able to start where you like. Why add 15-20 seconds to your time. Also you need to remind yourself it's a "run" not a race, although I appreciate that it can become quite competitive!

Weekly Update 27/07/19

11 Runners this week
1 New Course, Rogiet

Not much action to report....
Congratultaions to scrxisi on completing his 200th run at Southwark.
Soup Dragon set a CB at Bognor Regis in 19:39, in doing so equalled his PB Finish of 4th place.
Nozzacook completed his Bushy pilgrimage in 28:21, in rather wet conditions and a relatively small field for Bushy (840 runners)

Medals update:
Just one change at Bognor Regis, Soup Dragon now claims (GOLD), Andi drops to (SILVER), times had previously been identical but Andi had finished ahead in what was a head-to-head finish.

I was hoping to get out this morning to do a Parkrun but I've hurt my heel and its quite painful, plus I was absolutely shattered from a very busy week back at work. Should be out for Highbury Fields/Stevenage next week in readiness for the darts :P
