Well err, first of all it will never be finished as it's a Wiki, and secondly people like you are the ones supposed to be editing it.

I can't (and won't) do it on my own. :)

OK, I'll start the ball rolling shall I?

What I think the Wiki site needs (among other things) is the following:

Pages for every challenge showing the top times and brief description of the challenge itself.

A calendar of some description, as we now appear to have 456 people who have created one.

A history of the tube challenge to date (275 only to start with) using content taken from the tubechallenge.com website. I would suggest holding off on this one for now until I go through it and edit bits out.

What should NOT appear on the Wiki:

Personal accounts of challenges
Non-verifiable information (it is a Wiki after all and all sources should be verifiable)
Mindless chat (leave that to this forum)

Your thoughts?

How about personal profiles for all the regular challengers ?

Can do, yes.

BUT, the people featured on each page will not "own" the page and so therefore any user can edit them.

I'm limiting membership to TC forum members ONLY for now.

I'm currently working on a front page for it - something that will explain briefly what it's for and some simple groundrules.

The site WILL be copyright - more on that when it's up and running.

Any ETA on that?

One thing I did just think of.

Is most of this stuff going to clash with the current (and somewhat chaotic) Wikipedia page for "Tube Challenge"?

I notice that several members of this forum are active in editing it.

Neil,

It sounds like you've got most bases covered with your initial outline of what site should contain.
History of TC.
List of alternative challenges with Top 10 times for each.
Calendar of upcoming events.

For those who want to chat about TC something to direct them to this forum.

I think the Wikipedia thing should be kept running as this is a good source of information and also points people towards this forum. :)

OK, seeing as all I had to do was copy & paste from the lists already posted on here, ive put all the data on at my original proposed URL ( http://www.jonnylyon.net/tubechallenge/ ). If it were to be used (which looks doubtful) I would put a description of the challenge on each page.

I can see we've got too many conflicts of interest here.

Calendars, websites, this site, Wikipedia.

I'm beginning to wonder whether we need another one (MediaWiki).

Mine was merely an idea that I came up with before reading your plans for a wiki.

I started on it, then read your thing, so decided to finish it anyway. I'm not really proposing it because I think your idea is better. It's just there as a sidenote.

Please carry on with your wiki.

Interest appears to be small here.

Unless enough people show an interest its being binned.
