Re: London Overground Challenge
In my opinion Battersea Park MUST count, otherwise you are not covering all stations with a London Overground service. I will not do Wednesday, because I want to include it in my attempt, which would have to be on a non-school day.

Re: London Overground Challenge
In my opinion Battersea Park should NOT count as it is not on the London Overground line map.

Re: London Overground Challenge
So, it comes down to whether you include it because it is served by LO trains, or omit it because it's not on the map.
I would favour the former.

Re: London Overground Challenge
It's not listed in the timetable except under a little note. A continues to Battersea Park, does not call at Clapham Junction. So looks like Overground aren't too bothered about it.
Anyway, i'll leave it down to the people who actually want to do the challenge to make a decision on this one

Hence, it is listed in the timetable. I don't understand the purpose of you explaining how the timetable is notated :/Sam wrote:It's not listed in the timetable except under a little note.

Re: London Overground Challenge
It's not under the normal station list though like the REST is what I am getting at. If it was a big deal to LO they would have it listed as a station, not a note at the end that you have to be looking carefully to even see

Re: London Overground Challenge
I really don't understand how the subjective criteria 'do LO care' could be applied to a challenge which needs objective criteria. 'Is it on the map' is certainly objective, but it doesn't make much sense. The map is designed for general usage. It would be misleading to show a line on a map which gets such a sparse service (no matter how much I would like maps to include it) for the general users of the map. What we are attempting in the challenge is not ordinary- we need to consider every station that does recieve a service.Sam wrote:It's not under the normal station list though like the REST is what I am getting at. There are several stations with limited service that need to be visited in other challenges, Olympia being one of them, as well as (I believe) a racetrack station in New York. (only open certain days?)
If you find the timings of the Battersea trains don't suit, perhaps there will be a day when engineering work means all SLL OG trains will go from Battersea, with Clapham being served by the WLL. Unlikely, but theoretically possible. Otherwise, you can either depart in the early morning or arrive in the late evening.

Re: London Overground Challenge
As this is a non GWR record as such surely we can set our own rules, ala the Circle Line Bottle challenge where Marylebone and Edgware Rd (Bak) were deemed to need a visit because at the time they were shown on the tube map as being inside the bottle...
I intent to attempt this as some time so would like saome clarification and having read the above posts I vote no visit needed
BTW did The BERC include this in the marvelous R15 draw for this Saturday or is their no weekend service?

I agree with Kev! "Are record, are rules".
I'm not going to Battersea Park today.

Assuming the rest of the network is open, excellent.scrxisi wrote:27 Jan 2013tractakid wrote:If you find the timings of the Battersea trains don't suit, perhaps there will be a day when engineering work means all SLL OG trains will go from Battersea, with Clapham being served by the WLL.

10:00 until 14:00 is your window, as there are no Goblin trains prior to 10:00.
