Zone 1 Next Year

Post by CrunchySaviour »

Could I please take this oppotrunity to ask for the Zone 1 challenge to be held about a month EARLIER next year, because if it's on the 19th/26th then it's very likely to be in the middle of, or on the day of one of, my 3rd year university final exams.

So it would be better to have it at some point in April...

Not around Easter (+/- 10 days), as I'm in Oz getting married.

This September, certainly!!

It should be a twice-a-year thing at least. The setup this year with the random station and all that was flawlessly executed. I would vote for the same format in the future.

Seems like everyone has a different preference regarding the date of it though!!

I agree that it should be a semiannual thing Geoff, in May and September. A whole year is a long time to wait and Steven's wedding is on my 33rd birthday so we can have a joint party in Australia before coming back to do Zone 1 ...

Seriously though - even *I* can't wait until next May!

Maybe even see the Australian Pink Floyd while we're all there.

I wish I had the money to go to Australia on a whim. (Or a holiday).

September sounds good! and I MAY even try and build up some enthusiasm for it as well! my apologies for that - Geoff mostly! HE seemed to catch the main brunt of my mood/apathy. No apologies to T Boy whatsoever.

The APF don't play Australia, surprisingly. They've all lived over here for years and only 3 of them are Australian anyway. The other two are British.

If the Zone 1 Challenge is being done again in September, can you announce the dates pretty soon, as I need to book the day off rather pronto! Thanks

Any month between June and August could be very hot underground. May and September are about your limits for doing it really.

Likewise, it is adviseable to avoid times when schools/colleges are on holiday as there tends to be a slightly lesser service and kids getting in yor way at every move - sorry Joy54 - but hey, you've skipped school once ;-)

I still think you're all caught in the hype & excitement of Friday, and it should be a once-a-year event !
