One I thought of a couple of weeks ago.

Fifty or so randomly selected stations from all modes Zones 1-6 (you can throw in the Ruislip Lido Railway as well if you like!)

The object is NOT to visit all the stations in the set time, or even the most, but the rarest (i.e. the stations visited by the fewest other competitors).

It might well require a spreadsheet to calculate the scores, as I anticipate the players to score something like

2^(n-v)

points for each station, where n is the number of competitors and v is the number of competitors who visited the station.

So if everyone visits one of the stations, that will only be worth one point. However if there are ten competitors and only one player visits it, he will score 2^9 = 512 points.

The 'interesting' part lies in trading off whether to visit the 'easier' stations (thereby getting quite a few in but probably visited by lots of people) or the more distant ones that you are likely to be able to visit fewer of, but likely to be visited by fewer people). Of course if nearly everyone rushes off and visits the distant stations but one player decides to visit the closer stations, he could end up winning....

A variant / extension of the first part of Nordic Combined - could be interesting!

Insane, pointless, involving a large element of luck and a confusing set of rules...

The epitome of Tube Challenging!

Isn't it, that looks quite a long challenge - probably would take most of the day - as each line's last station inside the London Zonal area is shown. I do quite like the idea though, sounds like an interesting day. Would this include Stratford International and Stratford, one or the other or just Stratford given that's the name given, as they are separate stations? Also with the separate sections to St Pancras.

A stop is shown on the southeastern services at Stratford as part of an interchange, in much the same way as both Paddington Underground stations (or both Hammersmiths) are shown as a single interchange on the Tube map, where both have to be visited in a FNC.

Another one from me:

The Snooker Challenge - travel at least one stop on the Circle, District, Bakerloo, Victoria, H&C and Northern (in that order) in the shortest time. No other lines may be used, and each of the six lines listed may only be used at their correct point in the sequence.

Wouldn't everybody go Blackfriars  Temple  Embankment  Oxford Circus  Warren Street  Euston Square (Run) KXSP  Euston? (Or something very similar?)

Not necessarily - if starting on the bottom, there are at least four opening gambits with three different starting stations. There are several potential starting points in the Paddington area too although I suspect a bottom start may be quicker.

Timing will be key though - missing the pink at Euston Square could have a big impact, although there is an alternative finish possible.

You should have to do 15 stops on the Central line and 15 stops on the Northern line first.

Actually if we extend this logic then you shouldn't visit Ealing Broadway, Notting Hill Gate, or Oxford Circus either.
