Also, you need to include the Thames Clipper.
Thames Clipper shall NOT be included as
A, The Thames Clipper is NOT A TFL SERVICE and DOES NOT appear on the Tube Map.
B, The fees are ludicrously expensive.
A. The piers appear on the tube map (apart from Royal Wharf, Putney, Battersea, Cadogan and Wandsworth), and TFL provides route and service information through its apps and website.
B. It's not that expensive - just over £11 for unlimited travel (after widely available discounts).
But to be fair, as it is not a TFL service, should it REALLY be included as it is not operated by TFL and would just make the challenge just that bit harder and more expensive?

You could argue that the national rail symbols appear with stations with national rail connections. So you have to do those stations was well!

The Raven wrote: 24 Jun 2020, 09:42 I was also wondering what the limitations of the challenge were. Is it just bus routes that serve central London? Do you have to do the whole route or just one stop? Are you allowed to use other public transport? Etc

I think it has to be a small part of the route - the original idea was just one stop but we could make it five stops minimum...

As for which routes we use, if we did the one stop only and had an entire day we could make it all London bus routes - but happy to restrict to ones that enter Zones 1-2 to make it better for an afternoon...

I know the probability of all the weird routes coming out would be small, but if you got that rural route out of Orpington, coupled with something in the other three corners it would be a fair trek! (Enjoyable, but potentially very long!)

I've run a number of Random 10 bus route simulations... it'd definitely be quite long but the probability of getting an impossible combination of rare routes is quite low!

I'll throw together a cut down list of the London bus routes and we can put a challenge together if people want...

In the same way in a random 15, it's rare to get all 15 spread out with Ken O!

Here's an R15 variation from me.

I read this article https://londonist.com/london/transport/ ... Hp70U1yP94 on Londonist earlier. It's about the calendar dates the different Tube stations opened. On many dates, there were several stations that opened on the same date, and not always close to each other!

So it got me thinking of a slightly different draw - instead of 15 randomly selected stations, have 15 randomly selected dates, and the challengers can visit ANY station opened on the given dates - should give a wider variety of routes!

It's a good thing you said westernmost bus stop in London, not westernmost TfL bus stop...

That's why I said inside Greater London to stop silly answers like that!

Would that also include a picture of Wormwood Scrubs and some free parking somewhere? That second one might require a journey some way out of the city centre! (But then again it might not - I don't know London well enough.)

I did that a few years ago (including the car, the top hat, the dog and the battleship) - it's how I got into Tube Challenging.

The first stop out of Marylebone is Wembley Stadium. So not too bad

When I did it, I took Pentonville for the prison, Battersea for the electric company, and the old waterworks building near Victoria station for the Water Company - sorry, can't remember what I did about Free Parking.
