most east midlands trains call at luton a p dont they, as all of theese ideas non of them will ever get done lol
So it would be more of a "let's do some stations and trains that suit" as opposed to a catch all challenge then? Seriously, I await some people to go out and do even half of these hare brained challenges suggested - I know that lockdown has been tough, but Christ!

Edited to clarify this wasnt solely aimed at your post trains500!

I took your comment at humorous face value and really liked it without further analysis :-)
First to 100000 in the 2015+ Tumbleweed contest. Winner of a few rounds of a diverse range of quizzes/games. Some decent times in alternative challenges as a fiftysomething who merely walks briskly. Briefly led All The Actons.

I agree. I see this thread as a way to pass a very long rainy afternoon, rather than a load of serious suggestions.

That said, there are 3 ideas mentioned which I would like to see done, namely:

All Modes - At least one stop on all 11 Underground lines, plus at least one stop on Overground, DLR, Tram, TFL Rail and Cable Car.
Westminster - All 32 stations in the borough of Westminster. (I already have a possible route for this one.)
Centenary - Any 100 of the 270 stations

Roads, Streets and Lanes - 3:51:51
Zone 1 - 3:03:50 (Former record)

I also agree that its not important if these challenges are done or not. I just hope they brighten someones day during Covid19!

This being said, I'm very happy to take some of these ideas and run with them... though likely with a twist

Yes, Tube Challenging tends to involve running!

I could see this working as long as the cable carr is excluded. Where's the fun in putting tonnes of cash into some arab's pockets?

I can only see it working if the Cable Car IS included! Otherwise, it's not All Modes.

Depends on whether you see the cable car as a fruitless gimmick or a legit and useful mode of transport. I see it as a tourist attraction, others may beg to differ.

At the time it was built, I would say it was a legitimate form of transport (namely connecting two Olympic venues, albeit two that could be connected easily with a change from Tube to DLR at Canning Town).

However since the Olympics, there have been few if any joint events between the O2 and Excel which would people to travel from one to the other, but, there are a number of hotels around the Excel (and one near the O2), so it is quite possible that people attending late night concerts at the O2 may be staying in a hotel near Excel and use the cable car to get there.
