I'm not sure where the idea of not visiting certain stations has come from - provided you travel on the correct line, it doesn't matter if other lines serve the same station.

So (if we were to do 15 - or even 10 - reds and colours beforehand), it would be possible to travel to TCR on the Central then change to the Northern (or for that matter, to catch the Central from or pass through TCR). However what would not be permissible would be to catch the Central to TCR, then Northern to Leicester Square and follow that up by catching the Picc to Holborn to go round again as use of the Picc would constitute a foul shot (even though there isn't a purple ball in snooker!).

There is a fairly easy way to 'pot' 15 reds with colours, then the colours in sequence, but it would take a long time (if it was as little as 10 mins for each red/colour pairing that would be 2 1/2 hours!), be very repetitive, and not score very many points....

Realised this morning that it's possible to get a 133 break without leaving the network at all....

A 'break' of 140 treating the Tube lines as snooker balls - travel on the red line, then a 'colour' line (yellow, green, brown, blue, pink, black), then back on the red etc until 15 reds and colours have been 'potted', then the colours in sequence.

My girlfriend and I thought of one a while ago, and she reminded me of it yesterday...

Not the Tube Challenge!

Everything on the TFL map, except the tube. So Overground, DLR, Trams, TFL Rail and Cable Car.

Except should we include TFL rail all the way to Reading as it's outside the London Fare Zone? And what about Thameslink, which is now on the map but not operated by TFL? And isn't this challenge mad enough anyway that no-one would attempt it so it doesn't matter?

You've got the snake 128 route, has any worked out the longest Ouroboros route? Ie. the snake that eats its tail? The longest route without leaving the network, without going though the same station twice, but you have to start and finish at the same station?

An example:

Rayners Lane -> Wembley park -> Bakers Street -> liverpool Street -> ealing broadway -> ealing common -> Rayners lane

But obviously longer

First attempt for this, quickly knocked out...

Rayners Lane  Wembley Park  Baker Street (via Jubilee) Paddington (Praed Street) (via Bakerloo) Notting Hill Gate  Tottenham Court Road  Euston  Bank  Holborn  Piccadilly Circus  Embankment  Liverpool Street  West Ham  Waterloo  Elephant & Castle  Stockwell  Victoria  Westminster  Green Park  Earl's Court  Ealing Common  Rayners Lane

95 stations. Any improvements on this?

96 if you change from the Picc to the Circle at Gloucester Road, go up to HSK, then District out to Ealing Common.

Yes, of course, as per the Snake.

As I said, it was quickly knocked out.

Each team could be allocated a different starting station on the route and see which is quicker to do a whole circuit. If you're quick you might catch up with the team in front!

96 does look like the maximum. I think it would be fairest if everyone started at different difficult interchanges. For example, if you had 3 teams, one team start at Rayners lane, one at Acton town, one at High Street Kensington etc

maybe not start at rayners lane because RL makes challenges exciting due to the inconcistencies of services.

Has anyone been to all the Thames clipper stations in the shortest time possible?
