Roads Streets and Lanes - Tim Brooke-Taylor

Given that Tim Brooke-Taylor (regular player of 'Mornington Crescent' on 'I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue') passed away yesterday, and that the Roads Streets and Lanes Challenge finishes at Mornington Crescent (which was reopened in the 1990s by the ISIHAC team after a lengthy refurbishment), who would be up for a RSL Challenge as tribute to Tim once the lockdown is lifted?

I'd be up for this. Haven't looked at a possible route for this one yet. Will give me something to do for the next few weeks.

Great idea by the way :D

Definitely!

Date permitting and all, of course.

Just had a look at Tangy's website to see how long it generally takes, and saw that I have actually done it already in 2009! Had totally forgotten about it, although I do have a dim memory of starting a challenge at Hanger Lane - this must have been it!

How would this work? Can we start anywhere, as we'll all finish at the same point? (Working on a route now)

Yes you can EXCEPT on Talk Like a Pirate day where the Cannon Street start is fixed...

Excellent! I'm going to have to do some serious thinking on a route from Cannon Street. The program I use gave a nonsensical result which took about two hours longer than (what it says is) the optimum starting station.

I do have a route in mind for a Cannon Street start, though I haven't worked out timings yet, and there's an OSI I'm still trying to weigh up.

Is the plan to do this as the Cannon Street run, or is that just a possible idea that we're toying with?

I have a nice route for this challenge, but you will not be surprised to learn that it doesn't start at Cannon Street!

The Cannon Street run in 2022 is scheduled to be Roads, Streets and Lanes. Rich has said that the Tim Brooke-Taylor tribute will be starting from wherever we want, so you'll be able to use your nice route.
