I thought 14th December was R15 round 3 day: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3563, and that the Park Challenge was going to move to January to avoid Winter Wonderland.

That was the original plan but there will no suitable weekends in January without any engineering work.

I now have the added challenge of going to a panto at 18.00 ... in Hammersmith. This is going to be an "interesting" route.

Edit: Hm, can I start earlier than 10.00, or just accept I won't do all the stations?

Hi Jenny

No go for it start earlier if you like, no problem at all :D It's more not starting after 11:00 that's the issue as canthen make it very late collating all the results - will pm you my mobile number so you can text time + finish station
Don't forget that external roundel photo

It doesn't affect me in any way as I won't be doing it this year, but I'm intrigued by your message Kev - are you implying that all the previous years starting windows have not been a window but only a "latest starting time"? If so then that really opens a can of worms in terms of how challengers could potentially have started earlier than the "window" for their own time again (or additional pub time...) especially from potentially more favourable starting locations that Chiswick Park.

Playing more Devils Advocate than anything else...

Fair point Steve - lets make it clear the starting window is 0900-1100 for everyone this year then - I think we have not always had 1000-1100 as the window anyway...In fact if I recall in the pre-parkrun days we all used to meet and start at the same time (give or take when you started watch and took first external photo) BTW sorry you cant make this year :(

Thanks Kev ... still researching potential routes. Heading to Park Royal first and finishing at Ravenscourt Park is not a good option

(And good luck in the Cup. Peterborough United are my first football love, so definitely want Exeter to win this one!)

I think for almost every starting point, Elm Park is likely the optimal finish, although others may disagree....

Except the two times we started from there  The first year I finished at Moor as was meeting a couple of other challengers for a curry following parking recee for our first full network attempt... Also when we started at Newbury I cleared at Elm early in the day

I did say almost! - Elm, Upton and Newbury starts are the exceptions.

My initial route would have finished at Elm Park. But now that I need to be at a 18.00 panto, that would mean finishing around 16.30 at Elm Park to have time to get back. Even starting at 9.00, I think that sort of pace is beyond me, so happy to take a bit longer and finish somewhere convenient for Hammersmith.

It's a good excuse to play with maps a bit longer too :D
