Welcome to the 2018/19 Random 15 Championship. I am your host (commonly known to regulars as the BERC when I am hosting Random 15 challenges). The Random 15 challenge is just that, visit 15 randomly selected stations that feature on the Tube Map (usually within zones 1-2 and using the Underground network only). There will be certain rounds within the championship that are a variation of this such as adding an extra zone or network e.g. DLR onto the challenge. So are you ready to take on the Random 15 championship?

If anyone is not familiar with the standard rules (or scoring) for Random 15 challenges, they can be read here: http://www.explorerticket.co.uk/tubecha ... 5rules.htm (for regulars this is the same rules you are already well versed with).

This is the final round of the 2018/19 season and your last chance to gain points for the leaderboard. Remember those who will take part in this round and have already contested in ALL the other rounds this season will have their worst score deducted from their accumulated total. The podium positions will receive a prize and certificate, so it's still all to play for!

When: Saturday 1st June 2019, 12:30 (UK local time).
Pre challenge meet up: Stamford Brook, meet street side of the ticket barriers.
Post challenge meet up: The usual Bricklayers Arms, Gresse Street (off TCR- the road)
Variant: Bog standard round, 15 stations on the LU network only within zones 1 and 2.
Time limit: 4 hours.

Engineering works affecting the challenge:
--District: Closed Edgware Road (Circle)- Wimbledon. Circle line remains open.

Stations closed: Wimbledon branch stations.

Other engineering work:
--DLR: No trains at Bank. Diversions to/from Tower Gateway.
--Overground (GOBLIN): Reduced timetable, every 30 minutes.

There may be other engineering work on the national network further afield that may impact your journey into London.

As usual, this is an open invitation event but notification of your attendance is welcome to gauge the number of envelopes required.

Tangy.
The BERC.

According to the current Status Updates for this weekend on TfL web site, no District to Olympia either.

All very odd when I try and input in JP Westminster to Stamford Brook it's not giving me the district line either and is sending me via Green Park :? :?

If you try and search for West Kensington, it tells you take the Piccadilly to Barons Court and double back.

I'm thinking maybe Earls Court (District) is actually completely closed and trains are terminating at West Kensington from the West and South Kensington from the East (with the Piccadilly linking the two sections)?

It certainly looks like Earls Court District line is closed as all journeys I tried on JP route you via Picc line for that section.

Well, the interactive map and the page which seems to have replaced the 6-months-ahead PDF both specifically say no service Earl's Court to Edgware Road, Earl's Court to Wimbledon and Earl's Court to Olympia. If it is was more than that, surely they would have said. As a bad programmer myself, my guess is that the Journey Planner has some bad programming, and it's confused about what is available at Earl's Court. At least we should find out for certain on the way to the start rather than after.

I only brought it up because Olympia was additional to what tangy listed. Olympia is closed as an Underground station. It may be too late to exclude Ken Oly from the random generator, so if it comes up I guess it will have to be done by Overground or Southern. And there has been a pattern this season of stations that shouldn't be on the list, being on the list.
