60+ Card Challenge
I can't believe that I am about to turn 60. As some of you know, I retired from active tube challenging a few years ago, but I thought I should mark my move into retirement by coming out of challenging retirement for a final grand event.
So I will shortly be attempting the 60+ Card Challenge. This requires me to visit within the space of one week all 668 (by my definition) distinct stations (and tram stops) that it is possible to travel to for free using TfL's 60+ Card. Usual challenge rules apply, in that each station/stop must be arrived at or departed from on a scheduled service which runs on rails. Additionally, it is not permitted to use any transport during the week which would have to be paid for (for example, non-London buses and most National Rail services before 9:30am on weekdays cannot be used).
More information about the challenge can be found at 60pluschallenge.wordpress.com or on Twitter @60pluschallenge. Both the website and Twitter account will give the latest news and will provide live updates once the challenge starts.

Re: 60+ Card Challenge
I'm pleased to announce that following the easing of the recent severe weather and a bout of illness, my 60+ Card Challenge will start this Sunday, 11 March. All 668 stations to be visited by Saturday 17 March. For updates on progress please follow on Twitter @60pluschallenge or on the website
I'm starting to get quite excited about it now. Despite careful planning, I've no idea how it will go or how my ageing body will hold up to the challenge every day for a week.

I hope to keep this map, showing the stations done or not yet done, updated in real time once the 60+ Card Challenge starts on Sunday:

Good luck!
First to 100000 in the 2015+ Tumbleweed contest. Winner of a few rounds of a diverse range of quizzes/games. Some decent times in alternative challenges as a fiftysomething who merely walks briskly. Briefly led All The Actons.

Nigel, how's it going? Great idea and good luck.
I'm only 2 years behind you in age but unfortunately, I will have to wait until I'm 66 for my bus pass as I live in Sussex, not London.

It's looking good based on Nigel's map link earlier in this thread. Strong coverage of NW/W/SW London already. A few little anomalies stand out but hopefully there's nothing terrible that will prevent him completing.

Re: 60+ Card Challenge
David - I'm glad the map seems to be working. I'm trying to keep it up to date in almost real time using just my phone, but sometimes slip a bit behind when things get hectic. Depending on the link used to open it, it occasionally shows a few weird things, i think probably when my phone gets out of sync with Google's servers when I lose signal.
If you want to see how I'm getting on this week, it's best to look at the Twitter feed for @60pluschallenge which is the only thing other than the map I'm managing to update regularly.
More than half the stations done in three days, so I'm pleased with that. South Western Railways services have been abysmal and a spectacular fail by GN last night. Other than those, things have worked out pretty well so far. Three consecutive days have left me feeling rather tired by tonight, but hopefully I'll last the week.

I completed the 60+ Card Challenge in six days on Friday 16 March. 668 stations visited, starting at Roding Valley and finishing at Beckton. I'll provide more information once I get chance.

Congratulations. Six days on London Underground, Overground, Suburban, Tramlink and DLR is a fine effort for an old bugger!

Re: 60+ Card Challenge
Congratulations Nigel. That's some dedicated traveling.
I'm thinking particularly that there are several NR stations with limited services that required some planning to ensure they were visited.
